We are so excited and humbled that FabricLink has awarded CRAiLAR Flax fibers as one of the top ten most innovative textile products and technologies for 2014. For 10 years, FabricLink has been the premier site for consumer textile education and production promotion. This year’s top ten winners include mushroom based packaging solutions, medical innovations, fibers made of milk proteins, an attach-and-release textile polymer and a new innovation for American raised wool. We are honored to be in the company of these textile advancements that enhances a sustainable future for the global textile marketplace. CLAILAR FLAX RANKED IN MADE-BY'S 2013 ENVIRONMENTAL BENCHMARK FOR FIBRES

December 17th, 2013 - CRAiLAR is excited to be ranked in MADE-BY's 2013 updated Environmental Benchmark for Fibres. A European not-for-profit organization, MADE-BY, supports fashion brands in developing and implementing sustainability strategies in a commercial environment and promotes the use of sustainable fashion. The benchmarks, ranging from A to E, are a guide for designers and production managers to choose sustainable alternatives to materials currently widely used.

CRAiLAR Flax Fibres has been classified under CLASS B, which also features Lenzing TENCEL®,organic cotton and a few others in the same category. The benchmarks are developed using parameters that take into account different factors. Green house gas emissions, the level of human and ecological toxicity, water, energy and land use are all measured in determining where a fibre falls under the benchmark.

MADE-BY’s Benchmark strives to keep up to date with developments and innovations in the fibre industry and furthermore, provides useful guidance to brands like H&M, G Star and Tommy Hilfiger.
